Yes. I introduced paediatric POCUS to clinical practice in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and have been performing it routinely at Vatsalya Children's Hospital, Varanasi, for several years.
POCUS is available for all children admitted under my care, whether in the emergency setting, the PICU, or the neonatal unit. I use it as a standard part of the clinical examination for acutely unwell children rather than as a specialist investigation that requires a separate referral. For families who have travelled from districts across Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, or Bihar to reach Vatsalya Children's Hospital, this means that bedside diagnostic imaging is available from the moment of assessment, at any hour, without additional delay or referral.
