No. Not everyone who snores has obstructive sleep apnea. However, loud persistent snoring accompanied by breathing pauses, choking or gasping during sleep, morning headaches, or excessive daytime sleepiness may require further evaluation. An ENT assessment can help identify upper airway factors and determine whether a sleep study or additional evaluation is appropriate.
