Yes Doctors Get Tired Too But Here’s Why I Keep Showing Up Every Day

People often imagine that doctors are made of steel — tireless, always composed, always on. The truth? Doctors get tired too. We’re human before anything else.

As a fertility specialist, I work across a range of procedures — from preconception evaluations and intrauterine insemination (IUI) to advanced treatments like in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfers. I also perform laparoscopic surgeries, hysteroscopies, sonosalpingograms, and follicular studies, among others. Every day is filled with diagnostics, planning, counseling, and procedures. Behind each one is a couple hoping for a child — and that’s where the real weight of this work lies. It’s not just clinical. It’s deeply human.

The work we do in fertility and IVF is as rewarding as it is emotionally demanding. We meet patients who are desperate for answers, who have been trying for years, and who have gone through loss after loss. Every scan, every test, every procedure — it matters. And not just medically. It matters emotionally, deeply, to each couple.

There are days I feel drained  physically, mentally, and emotionally. But I still keep going. Why?

Because I love what I do. And because I know that even one embryo, even one good result, can change everything for a couple.

I’ve had cases where after five or six failed IUI cycles, we finally found success with IVF. Sometimes, out of 25 eggs retrieved, only one embryo turns out viable — and even that one embryo gives someone the gift of motherhood. That’s the miracle of fertility medicine.

I keep mentioning to my peers and family:

"As long as I’m working, I’m happy”

I don’t always take credit when a patient gets pregnant. Sometimes the science doesn’t explain it. We do things like PRP therapy, or administer granulocyte-stimulating hormones treatments that may not yet have solid evidence, but still give patients a fighting chance. In such moments, I simply feel like a bridge between possibility and hope.

What keeps me showing up every day is not just the science  it’s the smiles. It’s the look on a patient’s face when they hear, “You’re pregnant.” It’s their tears of joy. Their hope restored. It’s knowing that my effort helped someone bring life into the world.

Yes, doctors get tired. But we also get fulfilled. And that fulfillment is deeper than any fatigue.

If you're looking for a fertility doctor in Hyderabad, or want to explore your options for IUI, IVF, laparoscopy, or fertility counseling at Rainbow Hospitals, I’m here  not because I have to be, but because I want to be.

And that, more than anything, is why I keep showing up  day after day, story after story, miracle after miracle.
