DENTURE REPLACEMENT| I already have dentures, when to change?-Dr. Deepa Jayashankar| Doctors' Circle

This is one of the  common queries for the patient  whenever   they want to  wear dentures   and  when  they  want to    visit  the dentist.  Most of the times  if they are comfortable  they don’t need   to  go  to the  dentist. How  good is  their  dentures  is questionable  because  most of  the  times these  patients  are   so  accepting their dentures  that  for a dentist it  appears  as a faulty denture  and  doesn’t  let go of their  previous dentures.  So  it  becomes  important for  us  to    examine  the oral cavity,  examine the quality  of  the dentures  and educate the  patient  when  it needs  to be removed,  of the denture  tooth is  completely worn out. It has  to be  replaced. When the dentures are broken and repeatedly repaired, we advise it  to be replaced. If we  give conventional dentures,  a  regular  proper  and  lower  dentures, then   we  advise them   for a regular  visit atleast once  in  6   to  8  months  .
