Surgeryಯೊಂದೇ Herniaಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರ ? | Health Centre | Dr Mahesh Chikkachannappa | Aster CMI Hospital

A hernia happens when part of an internal organ or fatty tissue pushes through a weak spot or hole in the muscle wall that normally holds it in place. This most often occurs in the abdomen (belly) or groin area. You might see a lump or bulge that comes and goes, especially when you strain, cough, or stand. Some hernias cause discomfort or pain, while others may not cause any symptoms at first.

Common places where hernias appear include the groin (inguinal), around the belly button (umbilical), through a previous surgery scar (incisional), or in the upper stomach area (hiatal).

People may notice a visible bulge, a feeling of pressure or ache, or pain that gets worse when lifting, bending, or coughing. Some hernias cause heartburn or trouble swallowing, especially hiatal hernias.
