No. Not every brain tumour is cancer. Some brain tumours are benign, non-cancerous, and slow-growing. However, even benign tumours can cause symptoms if they press on important brain areas, nerves, or fluid pathways.

If a benign brain tumour is completely removed, is the patient cured?

In many cases, yes. Some benign brain tumours, when safely and completely removed, may not need radiation or chemotherapy and may not grow back. Such patients usually continue periodic follow-up scans. The answer depends on the tumour type, location, completeness of removal, pathology report, and whether the tumour has any higher-risk features.
