What is the difference between recurrent IVF failure and recurrent pregnancy loss?
Recurrent IVF failure means good-quality embryos have been transferred in two or more cycles without achieving a clinical pregnancy. Recurrent pregnancy loss means implantation occurred but the pregnancy did not continue, resulting in two or more miscarriages. The investigations overlap in some areas - both may involve immunological testing, genetic evaluation, and uterine assessment - but the clinical approach differs based on where in the process the failure occurs.
