Metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) is a treatment strategy used in oligometastatic cancer that combines systemic therapy, such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy, to control microscopic disease, with aggressive local treatment such as SABR or minimally invasive surgery directed at each visible metastatic site. The goal is simultaneous systemic control and local eradication, which together provide the conditions needed for sustained disease control or remission.
